Message From the Honorable Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources

MinisterI am very much pleased to release this message in this important event of launching a website by the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation under the able guidance of it’s new Chairman, Senior Engineer, Mr. Jude Fernando, Vice Chairman, Mr. Lakshman Hulugalle and the board of Directors.

Being one of the oldest corporations established in Sri Lanka in the year 1964 on 01st, October under the leadership of Hon. Maithripala Senanayaka then the Minister of Fisheries, I am more than pleased about the services rendered by it to the masses by providing them with fresh fish at affordable prices.

As we are in the eve of 21st century now, I admire the appropriate steps taken by the C.F.C. to establish this Website which will renown them globally and enhance their local and foreign exchange earnings which certainly benefit the country to go par with “Mahinda Chintanaya” the concept launched by His Excellency Mahinda Rajapakse, the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to uplift the life of the common Sri Lankan.

As the Minister responsible for the fisheries sector of Sri Lanka, my aim is to fulfill the objective of adding a good piece of quality fish at an affordable price to the plate of the consumer while uplifting the live hood of the fishers of the country through the operations of Ceylon Fisheries Corporation.

Message from the Chairman of Ceylon Fisheries Corporation

ChairmanOn this important occasion of launching the official website of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation (CFC) I am very happy to send this message.

Since 1964, when the CFC was incorporated, it has become the country’s best commercial organization in the fisheries sector.

Today we have addressed our minds for CFC to develop new strategies to strengthen customer relationships and acceptable return on joint venture investments to achieve the main objective of being a profitable commercial organization to support the country’s fisher community, supported by the private sector participation in investment and management, while keeping inline with the “Mahinda Chinthanaya”, the development concept of His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksha, the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

I wish to extend my deepest appreciation to the Minister of Fisheries &Aquatic Resources, Hon. Felix Perera for the support, encouragement and guidance extended to my self and the Board of Directors for our achievements made so far since assuming duties.

It is my duty to complement the dedicated employees of CFC for the excellence of their performance towards the betterment of the services provided by CFC.

I sincerely wish that CFC continues to achieve success after success in all the endeavors in many more years to come.
